Questions are part of learning.
The essentials about the Sign & Talk experience, where it runs, how your voice data is handled, how plans and allowances work, and what sponsors and clinics can see.
Who is Sign & Talk for?
Sign & Talk is built first for deaf and hard-of-hearing learners who want a visual, unhurried way to practise pronunciation. It also suits anyone practising a second language, a speech target set by a therapist, or clarity in everyday speech. You start with sounds, then move to words and sentences at your own pace.
Where can I use Sign & Talk?
You can open the web app at app.signandtalk.com in any modern browser on a laptop, tablet or phone, with no install and no waiting. The Android build is not on Google Play yet, so the browser app is the way in today. It will be listed under the package com.vinxign.signandtalk and will need Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later. Your lesson path, practice history and progress follow your account wherever you sign in.
Do I need to talk to use it?
You need to make a sound for the pronunciation analysis to have anything to measure, but you never need to hear the result. Every score is paired with a written explanation and a visual articulation cue, so feedback is fully readable without audio.
What happens to my voice recordings?
A recording is uploaded, checked for usable audio, analysed, and turned into a score with cues. We keep the derived scores as your progress history. Raw audio is kept only for the retention window described on the privacy page, and you can request deletion of your recordings at any time from the data deletion page.
Can I sponsor a learner?
Yes. Foundations, companies, schools and individuals buy activation keys in bulk at signandtalk.com/sponsor and share one key per learner. The learner opens Plans in the app, chooses Activate Sponsorship and enters the key — no card, no store payment. The sponsor then sees that learner’s practice summary (attempts, sessions, scores) under the learner’s 8-digit public id only.
What does a sponsor or clinic see about me?
Your 8-digit public learner id and practice statistics: attempts, sessions, average and per-sound scores, and which sounds you practised. Never your name, e-mail, phone, location, device or voice recordings. A sponsor sees this for the plan they funded; a clinic sees it only after you hand them a one-time code from your app inbox, and you can end that access from Profile → Clinics at any time.
I am a doctor or speech therapist. Can I follow my patient’s practice?
Yes, with the learner’s consent. Create a free clinic account at signandtalk.com/clinic, enter the learner’s public id, and ask them for the six-digit code that appears in their app inbox. From then on you see their practice report and can send written guidance to their inbox. Reports are an educational aid, not a diagnosis, and the learner can revoke access whenever they like.
How do I subscribe?
Open the web app, sign in, and choose the plan that fits your current stage. The pricing page explains the allowances before you subscribe. Your first monthly plan comes with the first month free: you pay for month one at checkout and month two costs nothing, once per account. Yearly plans are 10% cheaper instead.
Do clinics earn anything when their learners subscribe?
Yes. A clinic earns 10% of every yearly plan bought by a learner linked to it, as points (1 point = ₹1). Points become available after the 7-day refund window and can be withdrawn to UPI or a bank account (minimum 500 points) or spent on plans for learners the clinic works with. Monthly plans earn nothing, and the learner pays the same price either way.
What happens when I reach an allowance?
Your allowance resets on the next billing cycle. Until then you can keep using the lessons and features that are still available, or move to a plan that matches the next stage of your practice. A practice attempt is only counted once basic audio checks pass, so a silent or unusable recording does not cost you an attempt.
Is Sign & Talk a medical or clinical service?
No. Sign & Talk is educational practice software. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace a speech-language pathologist, audiologist, or any other qualified professional. If you are working with a clinician, it is designed to sit alongside that work, not instead of it.
How do I delete my account?
Go to the data deletion page at signandtalk.com/data-deletion. It explains how to request deletion from inside the app and by email, what is removed immediately, what is retained for legal or accounting reasons, and how long each step takes.
